And yet: how many children still stumble when they need to recall instantly that 10 × 6 = 60 or 10 × 9 = 90? True mastery — to the point of instant recall — is the foundation everything else is built on.

Print and stick on the bedroom wall or fridge. Every glance reinforces the memory trace.
The rule is beautifully simple: multiply by 10, add a zero. 6 × 10 = 60. 9 × 10 = 90. 10 × 10 = 100. But bear in mind — this shortcut only works for whole numbers. When your child starts decimals (2.5 × 10 = 25), the song and genuine understanding become even more valuable than the "add a zero" trick.
